Good morning everyone! It’s a beautiful Manitou morning, and I’m so excited to bring you news of Acting Manitou’s first ever Color War! That’s right, after days of vague hints, all was revealed and camp split up into a Green Team and White Team who battled it out to save the world and restore harmony to Pinter Puddle. It wasn’t the laziest of Lazy Sundays, but it was an amazing end to the second week.
The day started off like an ordinary Lazy Sunday, with a late breakfast of omelettes and a morning rehearsal, but around lunch time, a Peace Council announced the official start of the event. Campers and staff faced off in tug of war, soccer, camp and theater trivia, a second Gotcha circle of death, and a variety of other competitions. Competition was paused for campers to intermingle during dinner (pizza night!) before resuming for an evening grand finale. Ultimately, the Green Team cemented their victory with a heroically fast water cooler relay, and established their place in Acting Manitou history.
To celebrate a day well spent and a fight well fought, the entire camp came together for a dance. There were snacks, there was music, there was dancing, and a good time was had by all. Acting Manitou’s first Color War faded into the distance and we became a supportive community and true ensemble once again, exhausted and ready for an early lights out before heading into tech week.
See you soon—camp is gearing up for week three, and positively buzzing with anticipation. I’m honored to have been a part of a new Manitou tradition (and on the winning team—go Green!), and can’t wait to see what we’ve got in store in the days to come.
All the best,
